A strand of old African trade beads in deep oxblood/cherry red tones, strung with a handmade brass S-hook clasp.
The bulk of the strand is made up of larger, irregular barrel-shaped beads with a weathered, matte/frosted surface the kind of soft patina that comes from age and handling rather than a factory finish. Diameters measured with calipers run roughly 10.6mm–12.2mm, with natural variation typical of old hand-wound glass beads. One bead shows an oxidized blackened surface with the original red color peeking through
Interspersed near the clasp ends are smaller, glossy translucent beads in red and amber tones, which add a nice pop of brightness and contrast against the deeper, frosted oxblood beads.
