Chunky blue glass trade bead necklace — deep cobalt rounds marked with a bold red patch and confetti speckling in yellow, white and orange, spaced with clear green glass rondelles. A heavy, saturated strand that reads as colour from across a room.

Every bead is decorated by hand while the glass is hot, so the red sits differently on each one: sometimes a wide curved sweep, sometimes a neat round eye, occasionally wrapped almost halfway around. The speckling varies just as much, from dense scatter to a few flecks. The little emerald-green rondelles between them are translucent and catch light against all that opaque blue. Strung on blue braided cord with a simple tie closure, so it slips over the head easily.
